Fortune Cookie Coin Purse

This is definitely going on my list of holiday gifts for others.  How adorable is this leather fortune cookie coin purse?  It even has a fortune printed on the inside!  A wee bit pricey for a coin purse, but it may just be worth it…..

Hi friends!  Lots of catch you up on – namely that I’ve been dabbling in flower work.  As you probably know from my blog, flowers are one of my true loves.  From my childhood picking wildflowers, to asking my parents to tell me the names of every plant species in their respective yards, to obsessing over blooms and bulbs as a bride, I have never been able to get enough.

I’ve taken my passion on the road, and enrolled in a 4-series course at the New York Botanical Gardens.  The class just finished up yesterday – wahhh!  I learned a variety of styles from Cascade to English Garden to Victorian and more.  And the best part is that I had the chance to put my sweet new skills to work on an ad campaign for wedding dresses this past Tuesday at the Metropolitan Building in Long Island City.  Check out my progress below:

Finished products!

I love my flowers like I love my stationery.  I could spend hours playing around with them, dreaming up new combinations, and perusing others’ work.  I hope to keep playing!

Desert Wedding

I have an affinity for all weddings, and am particularly vibe-ing on desert weddings lately.  I think it’s the latest Spring Martha Stewart Weddings that brought this feeling to the forefront.  Did you see the gorgeous dessert wedding spread with beautiful oranges, yellows, and pinks? If you missed it, below are some photos from the magazine. It’s playful but elegant and SO MUCH COLOR! I love it. Have a great weekend!

Summer Swoon

Happy Friday, dudettes and dudes!

We are headed to Boston this weekend for the buffet of religious holidays and to collect our fur baby, Frida.  She has been at grandma and grandpa’s (aka camp complete with doggy sidekick, lots of space to run around, and nobody trying to brush her hair) for over a month and we are absolutely DYING without her.  My mom keeps sending me videos of her to keep us in the loop of all of Frida’s happenings which is very helpful, but we are aching for our canine companion.  Frida will be making her modeling debut early next week on Mercier Beaucoup with a special collaboration with Tory Williams.  Stay tuned!

Spring has been in the air for quite some time now, and NYC is bursting with spring and summer fashion.  This is when I shine in the fashion department – anything I can wear with sandals is my favorite.  I’m especially loving shades of muted lime and peach, preppy stripes and dots, and feminine florals for the warm season.  Here are some of my favorites – check out my entire wishlist on Pinterest!

Zebber’s Nails for Mara Hoffman

I can’t believe I haven’t shared this with all y’all yet.  My youngest sis, the fabulous Sarah and owner of Zebber’s Custom Nails was part of Mercedes-Benz fashion week back in February.  One of my favorite designers, Mara Hoffman, contacted Sarah about doing sets of nails for her fall 2012 runway show!  Miss Hoffman sent Sarah new patterns from her collection and Sarah busted out some amazing original designs that the models wore at the show!  Lucky you, Sarah is also selling some of her exclusive designs on her Etsy shop.  Come and get ’em!

Vitamin D, please!

Full disclosure, I don’t find winter particularly inspiring.  In fact, much like most animals, I too prefer to hibernate during the colder months.  I have learned that my peak hibernation season is typically end of December to end of January, until the days begin to get a bit longer.  It’s not so much the cold, as it is the sunlight.  And after getting confirmation from my doctor a few weeks back about the severe impact it is having on my body (EXTREMELY low Vitamin D levels, I’m told), I realized that I just need some sunlight.  I mean…. duh!

So we’re off to California next week for a five day mini-vacay to visit my family!  Just praying that it doesn’t coincide with the two weeks every year where mother nature decides to mercilessly rain on sweet California.  Hoping to get our fill out Mexican Food, family hugs, hot springs fun, maybe the beach?, farmer’s marketing, bbq, star gazing, and YES, VITAMIN D!  Ahhhh… I feel warm and fuzzy all over just thinking about it.

And of course, a girl needs a new accessory to get her in the mini-vacay mood – these scarves from Lem Lem totally match perfectly with the California mood I’m in.  Happy Tuesday!

Hello, 2012!

Hi Friends,

Remember me? I hope so! Apologies for the brief hiatus.  We had a lovely 10 days at home for the holidays and Daily Candy brought tons of new subscribers and orders that kept me plenty busy straight through the New Year.  80 new Stationery Subscribers for January!  Mercier Beaucoup is growing fast and furious and it’s mostly exciting, mildly terrifying, and sometimes overwhelming.  Oh, and did I mention that I’m getting married in two months? Hehe…. all seems to be under control for the time being, thanks to lots of help from family and friends and an excellent partnership with my husband-to-be.

Thought I would share with you some things I am loving right now to kick off 2012!

Kate Spade Borough Coasters – a holiday gift from my sis!

The Shala Yoga Studio – where I’m currently practicing gratitude and peace

Frida’s new dog sweater appropriate for a January without snow!

Listening to AP chuckle as he reads Jimmy Fallon’s Thank You Notes

The amazing collection of holiday cards I refuse to take down, including this adorable gem from Fig. 2 Design

My new Bravo obsession – “It’s a Brad Brad World.”  So earnest….. (PS – do you think Time Warner has a BRAVO and ESPN only cable package?  I think those are the only two channels AP and I watch.  Could save a whole lotta money.)

Noodle-y soup – all shapes and sizes – can’t get enough.  Especially the Miso Ramen from Momofuku Noodle Bar

Our amaryllis continues to grow and bloom! Look what we came home to!

Geode necklaces by the fabulous Brita Olsen

My very own Aztec Nails painting by Zebber, herself! Get your press-ons here!

Dreaming about our honeymoon to Costa Rica!

Feels good to be back!  Happy 2012 everyone, and lots more to come soon!
